Wondering if anyone who uses the RC-N3/N2 has used this device in the screenshot or something similar since there is no attachment point on the controller.

I have several. I never use them myself.

Yesterday I had to put the controller down to use both hands and the ground was wet. In the winter with snow on the ground I don’t want to be putting the controller in the snow.

I don't have that controller, but being a longtime RC aircraft pilot, I've always used a lanyard on my transmitters.

I don't have to worry about it slipping out of my hands, even if wet. And if I need to take one hand off of the controls while flying or during launch, it's not a problem.

I have lanyards attached to both my RC Pro and RC1. I find them necessary to free up my hands to swap batteries, etc and in the winter with cold temperatures they are invaluable.

I'm in Alabama and we rarely, if ever, get snow, and it doesn't get painfully cold either, but I understand where you're coming from. I have lived in places where I have used photographer's gloves and landyards while filming outside.

Yah, this morning it was 1C or around 34F. It’s only 9C (48F) now and it’s mid-day.

buurrrrr! Now that I'm older my blood has thinned out and can't take the cold very well these days :)

I use a lanyard from my rc days as well for my MA2 setup. iPad adapter, mini 5 iPad, HoodMan AVIATOR HAV1E, fair amount of weight.
I also use a lanyard for my wife's iPhone case she no longer uses for convenience IMG_3730.JPGIMG_3731.JPGwhen removing gear from drone as well as launchpad setup.
I use them every time I fly. I normally don't use the second top piece on the hoodman, but sometimes I do.

DJI not fitting screw holes in the RC-N2/3 controller as they did with the RC2 is a joke, I have both controllers but gave up using the N2 as i have to put it down if i need my hands free.

Is there an attachment piece on the RC-N# controller?

Check out my impromptu lanyard attachment when I first received the MA2.

Yes, since it has a plastic thread and really is too much weight alone and over time the threads would not hold up to over tightening so I've come up with a workaround that's perfect for me. Supports the weight with no shifting.
I used very dense shipping foam for support, doesn't have to be pretty for me just functional.

Speaking of easy and comfortable this is how I carry the MA2 rig so it's ready to go quickly.

I think I had one of those for my old Spark. It fit in the clamps and could support a tablet, but it was sold along with my Spark.

That’s an idea worth checking out! Did you feel it was sturdy enough?

Never was much for lanyards, and the attachment at the bottom of the RC1/2 makes it worse than no lanyard at all, as your hands get tired countering the pitch-forward force.

Then I saw this, and got one. I absolutely adore this accessory! Now my hands are less tired than with no lanyard at all, and I can let go of the RC or one-hand it as needed.

The balancing hardware is available without the lanyard as well for about half the price.

Only thing I would change is eliminating the little short strings the lanyard clips to. Why didn't they just forge/machine nice big solid loops to clip directly to where the strings are tied in?

They're annoying when you're NOT using a lanyard. Wrote STARTRC about this, maybe we'll see a newer version.

For my phone, YES.

It was temporary and other members mentioned stress on the mast, but I didn't have any problems with the simple rig before I purchased a tablet and a better support for it.

That system works for a screened controller. I need one for the RC-N3 as I don’t have any other compatible controllers.
