I plan to purchase a set of NEEWER ND Filters (Clip On) for my NEO 2. Any member feedback / comments? Secure? Issues ? I have a similar design/ set for my NEO (K/F Concepts)…works fine !

I have the sunnylife clip on filters and they work good. Just don't buy the magnetic ones as they fall of in minor crashes.

Same here. I have the magnetic ND filters for my Neo 1. Crashed and lost it. I'm done with magnetic. I'll be interested in the clip on ones for my Neo 2

I will repost and update once I have a chance to evaluate the Clip Version from NEEWER. The version I use for my Neo (K&F Concept) works fine …

I ordered the same, just waiting for delivery.

On my OG Neo, I used similar clip on style ND filters and and am very pleased with them.

I finally received my purchase order of the NEEWER ND Filters for the NEO 2. As mentioned earlier, I was a little skeptical about “other” magnetic / adhesive versions.

I have a few remarks to share: (1) The added weight of the ND Filter requires you to power up (at rest) the NEO 2 on a stable / level surface to allow the gimbal to complete its initialization process. (2) Affixing the ND Filter (Clip) takes some practice. Unlike the NEO, there is no “snap or click” to know if the ND Filter is firmly secure in place.

Mechanically speaking, the “clip” design to hold the ND Filter in place depends on the “stiff flex / tension” from the two prongs. Examining and confirming (checking) the placements of these prongs are paramount.

It would have been nice if NEEWER added a lower (bottom) clip to “clamp / pinch” the Filter Optics (frame) in place against the Gimbal assembly for added security…

Enough said — I will report an update after a few sorties ! 👍🏽

Managed to warm up enough for me to get an outside flight. The clip on ND filters work well, and feel very securely attached.

Pic is at 390 feet, looking north at my small hometown.

Nice pic, and thanks for the update. Still a little chilly here for me to fly. Looks like a couple of days before I fly.

Stay warm

Thank you for the feedback. Yes -- it is so COLD outside (single digit) in NYC (LOL)... I did a few "indoor" sorties in an empty basketball gym. Darn "Clip" didn't fall off :-). So far so good ! Happy / Safe Flying !

Temp is only 7° this morning, but THANKFULLY, temps should hit 40's next week! Might try some FPV flying around our yard if it hits 40° or higher.

I will be so happy when all this white stuff is GONE!

In that pic, what drone was that? and did you have any problem with the downward facing sensors over the all white ground?

Neo 2. And no, I didn't have any issues. Launched from my hand out the back door then stood inside and flew with the RC-2

The jury is still out...

It's been very cold and windy outside, so I decided to run a few test flights in a control environment (basketball gym). It's been a trial and error / learning curve when it comes to using these NEEWER ND Filters: (1) Properly Attaching the ND Filter to the Gimbal Unit and (2) Initializing (Power Up) the NEO 2 on a level surface to allow the Gimbal to auto-center (reset).

So here are my current "rookie" mistakes / observations:

In the attached photo, I think (at the time) I attached the clips (prongs) as shown (marked) on the RED Line. The video results were shaky (jello), jerky and blurry. I was not sure if the Gimbal was out of whack or vibration from the motors cause the distorted video image.

I did a re-calibration check and experienced the same results. But once I removed the ND Filter -- everything went back to normal...WTH! I started to think about a "root cause".

I placed the ND Filter back on...but positioned the "prongs" on the GREEN Line (further back of the Gimbal).

Ironically - no more shakes, jello, or out of focus behavior. I will continue testing with the ND Filters. But for now (compared to other DJI / ND Filter attachments) -- this is very finicky given the way NEEWER designed the clip and ability to hold / firmly secure a good interface against the lens. It would have been nice (design) if NEEWER added a clip / prong on the bottom part of the filter housing to offer an even "clamp" against the Gimbal.

The saga continues ... 👊
