I'm new to DJI - bought a NEO2 a while back
I've been flyng FPV for five years or so - but always analog. NEO2 seemed like a good way to get into DJI quality digital.
I did a few days in normal and sport mode, then jumped into manual mode.
The NEO2 does very well in manual mode. I tweaked it a little with rate settings - got mildly better.
But I had a good crash recently - camera first into pavement.
Afterwards I have a black screen from the cam, but with OSD, all other features seem fine.
After a tear down, i believe the ribbon cable to the gimbal and camera is split. I've ordered one from Ali Express.

Is there anything special about how the gimabal is secured?
The rubber bands are pretty clear. But there is an arm about 3/8" long on each side, in addition to the rubber band arms.
Do those arms need to be inserted or positioned in some special way?

Thanks

This drone has already too many gimbals, just like the A360. That was one reason why I didn't buy them. For FPV no need more axis stabilization it just makes a lot of headache after crash. Buy Neo 1 or rather a Avata2 which is a much better, stronger and more capable drone. That's the best pick. I myself sold my Jumper T20 and SkyZone analog stuffs and fly Neo1 and A2.
