The NEO is quite inexpensive, but what you get is just a drone and one battery.....I realize some controllers and goggles are compatible...I have original Avata Integra......nothing from it is compatible...I also have a RC2 from my Mini 4 Pro.....I believe that is compatible....I learned there is a phone app that can also be used, but seems limited...I know that no one can say for certain, but does any one think dji will do any updates making more controllers compatible....does anyone know if I can use the RC2.....and would I need goggles with it ( my integra goggles won't work apparently)...thank you for any help

For a controller to be compatible, it will need to use O4. That means any earlier ones that use O3 or earlier will never work. So it rules out my RC I received with my Mini 3 Pro, but as you say, the Mini 4 Pro will work (as that is O4)

That’s the thing, the NEO is inexpensive but the accessories are not if you don’t already have compatible ones. The goggles 3 is almost 3X the cost, the FPV controller is more expensive than the drone, and the motion controller 3 and RC-N3 is about half the cost.

For someone like me who does not have any compatible controllers or accessories, that can be a lot of extra cash to fork out to use the NEO to its full potential.

I am fortunate that the FMC which includes the N3 controller is available where I live at a reasonable cost. That is the package that I will be getting if I decide to buy.

My hope is that there will be a low cost version of the goggles released so that I can try out FPV, otherwise trying FPV will be out of the question. I don’t think this will happen since it would cut into the sales of their existing FPV accessories.

There's always the used market...

Yes there is, but googles are still way more than the cost of the drone. If DJI made a low cost goggles that you could insert your phone into to use as a screen that would be pretty cool and probably get more people hooked on FPV.

Always get extra batteries!

"Google" is free. 😉

Allegedly, dji is supposed to be coming out with a pair of inexpensive goggles, but who knows when, or what dji considers 'inexpensive'? There's still a good chance they will cost more than the drone.

Totally. The Fly More Package is the way I have always gone with my drones. It is a very rare outing that I only use one battery. With a flight time of only 17 minutes, even 3 batteries may not be enough.

Unless they're the box-type that you put your phone in. Those can be made pretty cheap.

Most of the engineering for that would be that transmitter, which is pretty easy to just leverage from the goggles 3, and changes to Fly.

The box type that you put your phone it would be perfect. I am not into FPV but being able to fly around with cheap goggles just for fun would be cool. I can fly my Tello this way.

I agree. I don't really see the point of dji. At this moment, if you want to fly the neo fpv, you have to invest a lot of money, but the end of the day, you still have an entry level drone, that's not really for acro, but expensive.
For me, it's okay, I have the dronemask goggles as a alternative, but for fpv acro, cheap fpv rtf kits are much better and cheaper options. This one is like 300$/€6ff44ce5-47d7-448c-ad41-89106a55a613.jpg.webpd391f7ba-6f8c-4349-8945-59e3d2a64289.jpg.webp

My take is the neo is an entry level - starter drone. Anyone getting in to FPV will buy the kit, and not worry to much about the drone as it's cheap to replace. So the neo is ideal all rounder.

exactly and when you invest in the goggles you can buy all sorts of Drones to use with them not just DJI ones or the Neo.
and that Beta FPV kit Christian shows above has made many an FPV Pilot...................... Those little Drones RIP!!
