Today was incredible. I climbed up to 34 m (111.44 ft) and there was a strong wind. I couldn't bring it back. It got lost on its own but fell near where I was. Some people from the park found it and gave it back to me. When I tried to put it away, I saw that my gimbal protector wasn't in my backpack. I went back to the RTH and someone else had found it (in the tall grass) and when they saw me, they gave it to me. Do you think the story ended there? Not yet. When I got home, I looked for my smartphone and couldn't find it. I activated the locator and went to find it in a gap in the sofa. Anyway, everything in my hands, the story ended.

Glad it ended well for you. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you were flying manual using a smartphone?

If so, 30+m height is very risky, and if you were flying this way, I'm not surprised this happened.

Very much worth investing in an RC-N3 (U$129) if you want to fly manually regularly.

One issue with the Neo are the low max speeds in N and S modes. IIRC, 6 and 8m/sec. Tough to go upwind when the wind velocity exceeds max SOG. DJI needs to boost the max horizontal S mode speed to at least 10m/sec.

Fly the Avata2. First day out using the MC3 I flew upwind and at ~90 meters above launch pad. High wind warning box kicked in. By then I had without realizing it drifted downwind from launch pad. Had to change to S mode and put the Avata2 into a dive. MC3 max descent velocity like the Neo in N or S mode is a bit too mild.

Neo handles significant wind in M mode. But with my stick skills the Neo is "bouncing" around. Always seem to be a fraction of a second behind in throttle modulation. Doubt if I can even fly a level large circle around me.
