New Skate Park

Nice shot! That looks like fun! (If I was younger).

Chris

Thanks!
There were two teens there, a boy and girl. To her credit she was wearing a helmet and I was very happy to see that. He was teaching her how to safely learn to skate board.
Definitely a hobby for the young.

A million ways to die having fun.
I've about tried them all.
20 years ago I used my skateboard to help move a refrigerator.

Those parks are cool.
We had parks sort of like that but for motorcycles back in the day.

Nice shot too.

Cheers,

I know, looking back and wondering what the heck was I thinking doing that, it was so dangerous. But then young people haven't been around long enough to have those life experiences yet.
I had a dirt bike for a short time (before I was married) running thru one of those tracks you're talking about for motorcycles a few times. You couldn't get me on a pair of skates now and I use to skate every Sat. night as a kid.

Same here, except it was a Kawasaki 650 stand up JetSki for me.

Me too. By the time inline skates became the new thing, I didn't want to learn again.

I put enough laps around that rink that if there were frequent flyer miles awarded, I'd have enough to go to Mars. :D

Just goes to prove "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger ".

If I knew then what I've already forgot twice, I would've taken more pics & videos.

Like the time going down a steap hill and falling off my bicycle and sliding (on my face). I was carried back home by a teenager. Both of us were covered in blood.
I think I was about 9 years old.
Six weeks later I was back on the bike. No fear!

Look Ma, no hands!
Look Ma, no brains!

Those were the days.

We use to ride sleds down insanely steep streets and hills in the wintertime. I did what you described once myself when I was in the 4th or 5th grade but it was with flat plastic board you laid down on like a sled and it had a steering handle with steel roller wheels. Man it was fast. In my case I hit a manhole cover sticking up out of the alley. It made a bloody mess of my arm and leg. Like you said good times!!
