Yeah, available only in US so far.
Whatever it takes. I want a mini 4 pro anyways.
If DJI writes the firmware updates it can be a winner.
Company or support has to stick around though.
A controller with display would be nice too.
We'll see what's going on around the holidays with drones.

MadsTech info is based on him taking a look at the FCC filing. Probably means DJI will in the near future release a FCC compliant NEO2. DJI registered two "Neo2" transmission systems. One for the Neo2 without the OcuSync and another module with. Why he is guessing the Neo2 is a non OcuSync and the module might be a plug in or integrated into a battery.

Unsure of what niche the Neo2 fills. Seems like just an evolution of the Neo. Maybe a replacement? Similar to what DJI did with the introduction of the Avata2. For immersive flying the Neo2 doesn't seem to be a major improvement. Unlike the Avata to Avata2.

Be interesting if the Neo2 is a replacement. Too bad at least in the USA no inventory of bnf Neo originals to grab at guessing a discounted price when the Neo2 releases. Would consider a 3rd for a backup to the backup.

I just guess, not sure, probably there will be a wifi only version. Many people buy Neo just to make 2-3 selfies on the vacation (in my country). For these people no occusync needed.

The Neo is (also) for us "poor" old folks that can't afford 3 or more drones to fill our recreational flying desires.

Why don´t you buy 2nd hand drones? I bought all, but the 2 neos from other pilots, saving hundreds of €.

Any brand of FPV is expensive if going digital video. Price of the Goggle3 is competitive with most other digital goggles. Unless going analog you are stuck with a system specific goggle. Where we really get taken advantage of is the price of input controller and the limits of just DJI brand.

IIRC, paid $64 for RadioMaster Pocket. ELRS model. Like even my junky BetaFPV controller there is a standardized bay to plug and more or less play module to allow flying other protocols. Pocket seems to be a more solid built and versatile unit than the DJI FPV RC3 at a fraction of the cost. Uses your choice of 18650 lithium ion batteries. Option to use the built in battery charger or just pack a couple spares. When the battery croaks in the RC3 sourcing a replacement might be a PITA. Gimbal replacement on the RC3 is expensive. Don't cross thread your gimbal sticks or knock them. Strongly recommend just leaving them on and invest in or diy gimbal stick protectors. Another niggle. Limited options without diy adapters for gimbal sticks.

If you buy any quad with O4, you can use the G3 or GN3 and the FPV RC3, no need for more controllers. You can sell the pocket... The drones are not cheap, for sure, but no other hardware needed (ok, LiPos and charger)

that´s why I sold a weeks ago my analog goggles and jumper t20. Just bind the goggles, the fpv rc3, setup in the betaflight, and you´re good to go. No more struggle with the elrs / edge tx etc... you can find even tiny whoops with O4 already.

No plans to add any more quads or fixed wing platforms until they are crash trashed. Pocket for the analog ELRS hardware. Resell for a $64 TX? Lucky to get 50cents on the dollar less shipping, PP fee... Then I would have analog paper weights. Considering 04 for electric launch sailplane. Spektrum rx. Why I keep the DX9 Tx. Also not worth much reselling and then having to reinvest in more rx/vtx hardware. Collection of hardware accumulated over the past almost 15 years. R/C has become less of a hobby and more of just a pastime. I can see the day when my DJI hardware becomes obsolete and tossed into the bin. No replacement batteries or charging hubs, trash the FPV RC3 and no replacement available. Just something that comes with the DJI ecosystem.

I sold this and last month all unwanted stuffs. I´m gadget fan, not drone fan, so I just had enough 3 different goggles, 3 radios collecting dust and take place. Sold actually everything for very good price. The jumper for more, than I paid for. The only thing I couldn´t get rid of is the motion controller. Nobody wants that thing...

I'm pretty happy with the NEO just the way it is. When and if a new NEO 2 does come out I hope there are just some improvements to the existing design, but not a major re-vamp. I currently love how the NEO is a low cost feature rich drone that has excellent tracking and AI capabilities, entry level FPV, and multiple ways of control.

I would like to see an improved camera sensor with the existing single axis gimbal and Rock steady combination and possibly a larger battery option for longer battery life while maintaining the existing price structure.

As soon as lots of more advanced features start to get added then the price will go up and then it will get into the territory of the Avata or the Flip drone.

It will be really interesting to see where DJI ultimately goes with an eventual update to the NEO. The NEO has features that overlap with both the Flip and the Avata series at a low cost which makes it very attractive to people who want the tracking of the Flip AND the FPV features of the Avata, but as soon as they start adding too many features in one direction or the other then they are going to creep into the sales of their other higher priced drones.

I love the NEO for what it is and for what I can use it for. Yesterday I was out biking on a bush trail and there were lots of low hanging branches from an ice storm we had in March. The NEO was tracking me from behind and hit the branches numerous times and just re-oriented itself, found me again and continued following. No other drone I have including ones that have omni-directional tracking could do what the NEO could do and survive. It did get hung up in a branch at one point, but I retrieved it and continued on.

I don't have a Flip, but I don't think the Flip could even survive what the NEO can take - there is an advantage to its single axis gimbal and Rock steady stabilization. The Avata, while it looks to be sturdy (don't have one) can't track. The NEO is popular because it is unique, high quality and cheap - hopefully it will stay that way!

If there is going to be a NEO 2, one thing I would really like to see them improve/fix is direction track. While direction track works in a basic way, it is often unstable and unreliable which is totally opposite the follow/active track modes.

Tried having Direction Track, track me on my bike while I rode down a gravel road yesterday and I had to be extra careful and slow and even then it swayed from side to side almost hitting trees at some points. I remember trying it in the winter while I snowshoed on the ice and the same thing happened.

Ok I thought about it overnight

This is all I want in a Neo 2.

1) Easily replaceable ducts
2) Micro SD Card slot with rubber cap to seal it like avata2.
3) Same price.

4) A better gps antenna
5) Better camera sensor

Wonder if DJI has stopped restocking their CA warehouse and direct ship until the tariff rates are locked in.

Was in communication with a small family business that has most of their products and components built in their China factory. They increased the price of their products ~10%. Then needed to stop restocking until just recently. Manufacturer of higher end optics. They have a healthy EU, Asian, Australian customer base to keep manufacturing. But I suspect their USA and Canada market are a bulk of their business. One of the owners noted price increase will probably happen.

Maybe DJI will soon be in stock at USA dealers?

GST and VAT would have been my choice over the current tariff on items the people in DC decide on. Bit more straight forward. It becomes our choice for most goods and services to purchase.

Have been thinking about an additional battery for the Avata2. Like most or all DJI products. Still out of stock. Add they increased the price to $199. Now beyond overpriced. No need for a ban. Just price to a too high point and lose market share. Glad I purchased the second Neo kit. IIRC, the total kit was less than what a Avata2 battery is listed. Haven't even looked at what DJI has listed for the Neo battery. Hopefully batteries will last as long as the Neo and backup last. Then back to only non DJI hardware.

DJI fans will always note R&D, quality of products, blah....blah....blah..... for the premium price. Nice hardware, but JMHO. Overpriced for what we get. Again JMHO, Neo was or is the only real high value DJI platform. Value = what you get for what you pay.

OT: Friend who upgraded to a Mavic Pro kit is now out of luck when it comes to warranty service, probably fly away whatever policy. One authorized USA repair center listed at dji.com and DJI USA sounds like it. Do they have parts? If fly away replacements come from China do they make through customs in a timely manner or at all? Part of the premium price is for customer service.

Yep, gonna be a slow holiday season in the US this year.
Or at the least an expensive one.

Many past times and products are becoming unaffordable quickly.
Expensive, low quality but American products will be coming in the future but it may take awhile.

I hope we are not driving mostly 30 year old cars in 10 years from now like some countries have been doing for some time.
Products haven't been built to last for a while now in our disposable society.

It's gonna take a whole lot more work to play very soon.
