New Neo better satellite acquisition

Bought a second Neo last month to use neo #1 for some serious manual FPV beating.

I was surprised to find that #2 consistently acquires satellites much much faster and gets a GPS lock than #1. I'm guessing DJI did something to address this since the initial release of the Neo, something many people complained about.

Just as well... #2 will get used for the selfie, RC2, etc. sort of stuff the Neo was targeted for. #1 is now an FPV whore, used recklessly for practicing my most extreme manual FPV flight. There are better drones in the squadron for this (Avata 1 and 2), but cost much more to fix or replace if they get damaged. Also, that little Neo is damn tough! Alas, just slow...

I don't think so. My older neo is 1 year old and locks SATs within seconds. The VPs is crap as I posted a year ago, but I got used to it, because I have Tellos and have the same problem. DJI put a better version into the edu versions, but the "regular" ones remained the same untill the end. The neo is just a low end drone with cheap modules. They don't bring big bucks to DJI, so they don't give a f...k what owners complain about.
I don't know, just guess, that DJI produce the drones for a few months only and store them in warehouses. That's why no hardware mods, just software updates... This is clear if you take a look at the mini series. After the first mod (the motors) they sold it as a new model (se). Again hw mod, mini2. The next mod, mini2 se...
