Pilot Institute weekly news noted a few DJI leaks. Neo2 noted. Presenter noted maybe a more FPV model. Avata 3 might be more biased to video. If the Neo 2 is for real and stays sub 250 with design goal of an immersive FPV quad with more power and longer flight times. Will be happy and interested in. Have no needs for any of the autonomous Neo features and could care less about the relatively weak image capture capabilities. So many video/image platforms in the DJI line up to choose from. Sure hope Neo 2 fills the niche for immersive FPV. A sub 250 replacement for the DJI FPV flying potato?

Yeah, been watching those rumors for a couple weeks now.
Price rumors are upwards of $1500?
It will be a little chunk of flying gold.🤑

At $1500 it better include at least the Goggle3 and MC3 or DJI FPV RC3 plus 3 batteries and charging hub. Avata2 fly more kit pricing for a Neo? Must be significant improvement over the Neo. Or just more internet BS.

I could justify ~$500 for a Neo2 plus batteries and hub if it is a sub 250gm immersive FPV platform designed to replace the DJI FPV. A windy day manual mode "Neo" that would be still less painful when I crash trash it vs. the Avata2. Would probably sell the Avata2, but at less than 50 cents on the dollar or less or not worth anything for used quads it might be better to just keep as a back up to the Neo2 for windy day flying.

I would like to see the Neo 2 have an active built-in RID module to qualify for Part 107 Cat 1 operations over people in the U.S., right out of the box.. Outside of that, I’m not sure there will be enough to get me to upgrade. The Neo’s camera is “good enough” and I have a Flip for higher quality footage.

Because of its form factor, the Neo is limited in capabilities. Granted, it’s a fun little drone to fly, but yeah, I wouldn’t pay any more than $500 for a Neo 2 Fly More Combo kit.

One thing I'd like to see is obstacle avoidance. I had a $15 knockoff drone that had it. Of course it wasn't the best but it wouldn't run into a wall.
The over correction the opposite way was the problem.
Bigger camera and battery would be nice but not at the expense of going over 249 grams.

Price will be the biggest factor.
Plenty of choices in the sub $2k area.
Not being backward compatible to the n3 goggles and rcn controllers
Would be a deal breaker!

Happy Saturday (retired)

Everyone wants more for the next name your drone. The Neo is a selfie drone. If you want a drone for some specific activity, get a model which does that thing well. The Neo is an inexpensive beginner model. Nothing more.

The Neo is (also) for us "poor" old folks that can't afford 3 or more drones to fill our recreational flying desires.
😉
