My new accessories

Do you mean the 5-blade that Chris picked up? I'm interested in the greater thrust...
Exactly. Buy a set. These props are available just about everywhere, in FPV stores too, not only on Ali.

I bought the 5 blade props specifically to see if they would add more thrust to the NEO so that it could support the extra weight that the added bottom light (40g), the top mounting bracket (~16g), and the penlight (20g) added. With the stock 3 blade props the NEO kept making sudden drops in altitude, but with the 5 blade ones it flies smoothly with all the extra weight.

There´s also a 4 blade version from this prop. If the load isn´t so heavy. these have a little longer flight time. I use them, when the weather is a bit windy. The Neo flies more stable, than with 3 blades.

There are a few NEO 2 batteries on Aliexpress which are genuine and not very expensive if you can find a deal using coupons, etc. Takes awhile to arrive but I paid @ $60.

Is that per battery cost? They are USD $39 on DJIs website here in Canada. Is that the price you have to pay after tariffs are added?

To me, it is shocking how much the cost of drones and drone accessories now cost in the US. In the past it has always been the opposite - prices in Canada have been higher for everything relative to the same thing in the US. I feel for all of my fellow US drone pilots and hope the situation will eventually get better.

I was looking at grabbing one more battery for my neo 2, but the price point isn’t doing it for me. If I buy a $65.00 battery and then pay $20. for shipping and then $9. sales tax at 94. that’s too much. There’s many sellers that are possibly cheaper but then it’s a gamble as to the seller for me. In light of everything that’s going on now I haven’t even opened the box just yet. I got it 6 days ago.

Yes, ~$60 OTD so that includes tax, tariffs, fees, everything. Again, I think you can get a discount if you find a good coupon or cashback somewhere. But yes MSRP $39, retail $58 is not super terrible but you can buy as many as you want without having to buy the kit and then sell the drone (which I am doing as well).

Yep, that's why I took the chance on the BF deal from Ali; my big risk is whether they were OEM or not and turns out, they are genuine DJI. I'm not sure if these prices are going up or down; they seem to be doing a lot of both.

And then I might try one of these: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256810411297136.html

On the accesory front I have some information.

For the Neo 2, there is a charger now available that offers a storage mode (50 - 60%)

Next, the downward light for the Neo can have problems with altitude.
I was flying indoors with no GPS with a forward facing and downward light installed.

This was a large bay with a 20 foot ceiling. The lights were on in this bay, but the lighting is not good.
The Neo would not be able to see the ground since the downward lights were not bright enough and would go into Attitude mode. The Neo suffered one crash, but no damage.

The downward system was the popular one pictured here.

This light works great in pitch darkness. But in my tests, there is an altitude limit for it. Attitude mode happened only when the drone was 15 feet and above in altitude AGL.

That seems reasonable for this light because as altitude increases the light disperses making it less effective to provide enough light for the VPS.

I have also noticed that as the light discharges with use it becomes less bright. I have had my NEO go into atti mode a couple of times because it is not bright enough for the VPS. Keeping the light charged up before use solves this problem.
