This propeller is a bit tricky. Last year, after the release of the Neo, someone put this propeller on and made a YT video. Since then people buy this props, as it was the only compatible model. The original D51 propellers, just like the hurricanes, are 2 sets in the bag (4cw + 4 ccw - 8pcs) and no screws included. This should be a fake or sellers re-sell these props in smaller packages. Good deal, the 4 pairs bag costs 2.80€, 50 screws like that 1.50€

Are you saying the ones I ordered are fake, because I just ordered more to make 2 sets. They state they are NEO compatibl and come with screws.

I´m not sure, it´s fake, looks original, but I´m 100% sure it´s not original package. These 2 inch GemFan props come always in marked bag and there´s a sticker, that says what kind of props are inside. Always 8 pcs inside and come never with screws and screw driver, only the props. Neither Gemfan, nor HQProps sell just pairs, the basic pack is always 4 pcs (1 set) or more.

I recommend to everyone, who orders from china to keep the eyes open. There are many tricky listings. There are for example many listings state original Xiaomi, but fake or simply nothing to do with Xiaomi, just looks like a Xiaomi design.
People jumped on this particular propeller and the chinese sell these in parts, not fake maybe, but sure a rip off. Always read feedbacks, starting with the 1 star feedbacks. I don´t buy things have worse feedback rate than 4.7.

I ordered another set so that I can at least have a full set of 4 props to try. If they don’t work, It’s not much money lost since they were cheap. I do like that they come with screws so that I don’t have to hunt for proper screws.

Pleaase keep me updated Chris, I´m curious, whether the 8 additional blades generate enough lift.

I will. I am hoping they will.

I tried swapping the big GoPro style screw for a smaller nut and it made a difference. It still did the dropping but not nearly as much so maybe the new props will do the trick.

Got my new props yesterday and installed them today. Since they come in pairs, I ordered two more smoke ones and a complete set (4) green ones. I installed the green ones since we have lots of snow now and if the NEO lands in the snow the neon green will be easier to find.

I briefly tried out the props with my landing light and the pen light attached which requires the prop guards for the mount to attach to and to my surprise the NEO did not do the dropping behaviour that it did before with the stock props. I'll do more testing when I get back from running errands but so far I am very pleased. Not only do they look better, but the sound is way more pleasing and seems to be quieter. With all the added weight there will be an obvious hit in battery life but I will do more testing to see what I can expect so that when I use it to explore abandoned buildings I will know what to expect.

Did a few tests of the new 5 blade props today and am very pleased with them - I'm never going back to the stock props!!

Ran some Active Track/Direction Track shots with the new props while I walked through a heavily wooded trail that was covered in snow and was surprised at how quiet the new props are compared to the stock 3 blade ones. Had to start and stop a number of times as there were a number of people on the trail walking their dogs. I'm going to go out on a more secluded trail and see if the battery life is more or less than the stock props.

Back at home I installed my landing light, prop guards, light mount and Rovyvon pen light and launched while recording video. The NEO flew perfectly- no sudden drops like it did with the stock props. Very pleased!! The only downside as expected with all the extra weight is that the battery life is significantly less. I got just under 7 minutes from a fully charged battery. I flew into rooms in my home that were completely dark and were below ground level and the NEO flew perfectly with the landing light and the penlight.

Before my first flight with all the extra weight I was sceptical of the 5 blade props - didn't think there would be that much difference in thrust between them and the stock props.

Propellers are essential parts of aircrafts. Using a different prop can make a big difference. They´re cheap, easy to replace....
