Landscape orientation on phone?

changed ISO and EV to minimum while connected to RC. The video feed was extremely dark now.
Turned off RC, re-connected using wifi and the video was back to normal.
Turned on RC, reconnected and video was back to dark.

So the seems to use separate profiles.

You don't need the same phone, camera settings have always been stored on the aircraft, as I said there just are different profiles stored by control method and RC3/phone seem to share the same.
So you are saying all settings including camera customizations made on a controller are stored in the Neo, so if for example I used an RC2 screened controller to change settings and then switched to an iPhone only as a controller, that the settings will be the same.

I am just trying to clarify the details because I likely will pick up a Neo in the future but am trying to determine the best package (drone only or FMC) for my uses.

So that seems like different profiles are stored for different devices on the Neo.

Were you using the RC-N3/N2 with a phone or the screened RC2 which has its own version of Fly?

I just realized by watching another Utube video that you cannot control gimbal pitch when using a mobile device - bummer!

You can - when connected to a mobile phone the top half of the screen shows your view - there is a slider within the screen on the right hand side that controls the Gimbal up and down

Ok that’s good news. Maybe the guy had a pre-release version or just didn’t realize it.

Chris

It's not particularly obvious to be fair - i only found it by accident!
Can you post a screenshot of the slider. In the video I watched I could not see it.

Yes of course - i've tilted the gimbal which shows the angle gradations. Before you do this you just see the slider - the gradations appear when you move it then disappear when you stop touching it

Thanks for that screenshot. That’s a relief that you can tilt the gimbal using a phone.

Originally I was leaning to drone only but now the FMC. Being able to do basic things with just the phone appeals to me too because there will be times I don’t want to carry the controller.

Chris, just a thought – since you're leaning toward the FMC, what other DJI drones do you have? Any that are supported by the RC2?

I believe you already have an RC Pro, so you've got the integrated experience. What about getting a US combo (FMC without the RC-N3) and the RC2? If you have any other O4 drones, it will work with them too, and you're probably already frustrated they don't with your RC Pro.

I have a Mini 3 Pro and a Mavic 3 Pro. Both don’t work with O4. As far as controllers go, I have an RC Pro and the DJI RC1 that came with the Mavic 3 Pro purchase.

The US combo without the RC-N3 is not available here in Canada. I don’t mind purchasing the FMC. When I purchased my original M3 (with 2 lenses) it came with the RC-N1 so I am familiar with using an RC-N# controller with my phone. I like having the option to just use a phone but also when I need to, the N3 controller. The biggest concern right now is will my iPhone XR be suitable. It runs Fly fine but I haven’t used it to fly a drone in a while since I have screened controllers and I am not in the market for a new phone.
