I was going to insert the video I did for the channel, but i figure there's enough of that in forums, so here is the question

Unlike any other quad that gathers a flight log for each and every flight and a DAT file which only DJI can read, the NEO in autonomous mode isnt creating/storing a flight log.

So what happens if the Neo zooms off and disappears whilst flying in autonomous mode, will the user be expected to somehow prove the flyaway?

If not then what is to stop someone from claiming a flyaway under care refresh and getting a replacement Neo, think about it unless it gets connected to an app that is connected to the internet there is no way for DJI to lock it as a lost flyaway quad.

I hope this post doesnt give someone an idea to do this.

If you have a fly away, I doubt DJI will question it.

well just checking my i year cover i obtained with my Neo then that allows for 2 replacements with a £16 fee ,and one of them can be a flyaway claim ,which costs £76 ,double those replacement amounts if you have the 2 year plan ,secondly what you are forgetting here is if you did try to scam DJI and say it was lost you would not be able to fly it in any mode untill it was activated
and for all we know they could lock it to your DJI account before it was sent out to you

I have read somewhere else that flyaways get deactivated and can’t be used until DJI unlocks it.

as Gfields has said, no way to prove it so DJI would need to accept the fraudulent claim.
im guessing there is always ways around most systems,to commit fraud, but for the small gain here, i dont think you would be doing yourself any big favours

I really hope mine doesn't fly away. I lost contact with it on one flight and it went up to 30 metre (my default height for return home) then just hovered. I had a panic, but it thankfully it returned home after a minute or two. Just before landing the signal reconnected.

I've seen a lot of videos where the fly away has been over water - even tiny amounts where there is a reflection, like puddles after the rain. I have DJI Care Refresh for 2 yrs, which covers x2 flyaways. DJI seem to be honouring a lot of issues at the moment, but I guess once firmware is stable they might start challenging those flying over water etc, even though the manual says not to. Be careful!

its already activated.

True if its connected to an app which is connected to the internet
First of all my name is not bud.
sorry keep forgetting im not always talking to people from the UK, in the UK Bud is a friendly way of speaking to someone whos name you dont know, as in "sorry bud i didnt see you there" also Pal, mate, mucker can be used as alternatives.

So in essence it seems that DJI would have to accept the flyaway
