Winter has Arrived!!

Very Impressive!
Not sure if you are responding to the photos or the Summer/Winter fade done by Dronning on and on … but thanks!

Snowflake. Lots of thought and effort to do something that difficult.
P.S. and Droning on and on as well. Both are very impressive. Excellent job of matching the before and after shots.
My hats off to you guys, well done.

To do the light paintings there are a number of steps involved but once you know the steps it is not that difficult thanks to Wes Barris' Litchi Mission Utilities that I linked to in post #18. The light paintings can also be done using a more recent drone that has the capability to use DJI Fly Waypoints thanks to Wes' utilities. There is another member over at MavicPilots that uses his Mavic 3 Pro to do light paintings. The Mavic 3 produces even more accurate drawings since it is more stable than the old P3S I use. Check his paintings out. His user name is RAC DJI.

All you really need to do light paintings is a drone that can fly waypoints and Wes' utilities. I have even used my Mini 3 Pro that use virtual sticks to do waypoints.

Great to see that you want to try this. Wes has created some amazing utilities that make doing this kind of thing possible. I have been doing light painting for years but Wes' Litchi Mission Utilities were a game changer for me.

The basic process is:
•find a suitable SVG file and convert it to a Litchi CSV file using the SVG to Litchi converter.
•run the CSV file through Litchi Mission Rotator and use the link there to remove close waypoints.
•re-run the CSV file through the rotator after the close waypoints have been removed to rotate the mission into the vertical plane
•use the Litchi Mission to DJI Fly waypoints converter to create a KMZ file from the CSV file to load onto your RC2 or phone/table if using RC-N2/3.

Once you get used to the steps it becomes quite easy to create complex light painting missions.

Make sure you post your results in the MavicPilots forum. I am interested in seeing how the M4P does since it has the capability to use onboard waypoints and how it compares to the Mavic 3 Pro which another user on MavicPilots is using. His user name is RAC DJI.

Good luck, start with a simple drawing and when you get the process worked out, then move on to more complex images. Don't hesitate to ask if you need some help.
