Today we got a blast of snow - our first real snowfall this season. We got between 15 to 30cm (6in to 12in) of snow. The beaver pond that I often go to to watch/photograph the beavers was pretty much frozen over. Just a few days ago on November 27th, it was completely open. I flew my NEO up over the pond to take a few photos and then a snow squall came through.

Here's a photo taken Oct. 16th with NEO.

Man l'm looking forward to cold fingers.
It wasn't too bad. The temperature was only around -2C to -3C and there was little wind. When there is wind, the wind chill can make a huge difference. Today it was a bit colder at -6C but the sun was out for part of the day so it doesn't feel that cold.

Here are some more shots from today. The second image is a 4 frame vertical pano.

Here's another shot from tonight that goes along with the winter theme, flown with my old Phantom 3 Standard and shot using a long exposure on my DSLR.

Wow.

To witness a solitary drone flying at random points may explain some of the UFO sightings people see. 🤔

Until you see the big picture. 😊

Thanks for sharing. 👍👍

About a month ago, I was flying some Light Painting missions with my P3S down at the beach and some people came down because they had seen the drone lights. They live near the water and saw it from their house. They were friendly and interested in what I was doing.

Great photos, just wondering what kind of battery time you got in the cold?
Thanks!

The average battery time for my NEO in the cold is pretty much the same as it has been since I got it. I average between 11 and 13 minutes depending on what I am doing with it. The temperatures have been around -2ºC to -3ºC so far. When the temperature gets lower to between -15ºC and lower I will likely see some hit on battery life since the NEO battery is exposed.

Here's a gradual Summer/Winter fade back and forth of Chris's pictures...

That’s pretty cool. Thanks for doing that. Did you use photoshop to line up the pictures and make the video?

All done on my Z Fold 4 using Kinemaster.

First create a 5 second clip from each photo on it's own track. Alignment is done by setting opacity on one clip to around 50%, then dragging it around over the other to align various common features.

Once aligned, crop the non-overlapping portions, scale to frame, use alpha transition between keyframes at beginning and end of one of the clips to make it fade in and out.

Duplicate serially a bunch of times, voila!

What software and control app are you using to do that? Is it done with a waypoint flight?
I use Litchi Mission Utilities by Wes Barris. I find an SVG file I want to use, convert it to a Litchi Mission and then rotate it vertically and fly it using Litchi. Wes also has a converter that will convert the Litchi mission CSV file to a DJI Waypoints KMZ file for drones like the Mavic 3 that use the DJI Fly app for waypoints.

I'll have to take a look at Kinemaster and try this sometime as I mostly shoot photos on my drones.
