Have a few too many UASs. Most of the non DJI quads reside in the parts bin due to beyond repair. Outdoors I've been flying mostly the Neo this Autumn. The Avata2 case needs to be dusted. I've only flown two sessions with it this November. So far this month 9 sessions logged on the Neo. Winter is arriving. Mix of rain/snow forecasted for the next few days. Outdoors season is probably over. Rainy, gale force gusts today. Retired with time to consider why I've been flying the Neo so much.

The +s:

Only issue with outdoors flying is more me than the Neo. Wind. In manual mode limited to max of F3 winds. The stabilization in S mode makes for easy flying in F3 conditions. M mode, my stick skills are lacking. Real challenge to maintain a smooth line. So not really a negative and more of a positive.

Price point relative to any quad with digital video system is a good value for the quad alone.

Tuning for how I fly seems nice. Still playing around with the gain/rates in manual mode. Being able to quickly and easily customize stick sensitivity, max rates, and expo is a plus.

Flight times relative to non-DJI quads of this size are long.

Robust little quad. Takes a crashing and keeps flying with little apparent damage outside of scuff marks and broken propeller blades.

Love the options to quickly bail out of manual mode and recover from a potential crash. Reminds me of what Horizon Hobby/Spektrum had/has called Safe in some of their models. Flick a switch to self level. DJI is one step better. Flick a switch and rapidly brake to a hover.

Now that I've made the investment into 04 DJI hardware. The hope is DJI continues to expand their line of immersive quads based on the 04 system. The NeoEvolution (my concept, not anything else). Keep production of the current Neo. Drop the autonomous features in the NeoEvo, improve the low ambient light issues, bit larger more powerful motors, larger capacity battery, less than 249gm, and in a footprint of identical size as the existing Neo. MSRP less than $250.

Since I'm dreaming. DJI, sponsor a real world and online one-design NeoEvo and/or Neo original racing program. Set specific course requirements and then you can sell the official DJI Neo Series course timer so we can download our results to the official DJI race center. You already have a majority share of the worlds drone market. Time to conquer the world of drone racing. Since I'm fantasizing . Maybe another Dubai Million, but exclusively little DJI Neo and NeoEvos.

I've jokingly speculated as to a neo competitor to the Hover X1 Pro and Pro MAX elsewhere on the forum, but I'm very optimistic we'll get one, and with the price of the Pro around $500, there's a lot of breathing room to come up with something that is more targeted at the FPV community with a much better camera.

Not sure what you mean here but the two names will never exist together as both are trademarks.
Maybe just NeoV2 or NeoPro or whatever the DJI marketing people want. A Neo size and reasonably priced quad more orientated to immersive flying. Price point to fill the gap between the Neo and Avata2. Might attract some users who's first exposure to quads and fpv is their Neo.

Neo sized. But max 249gm due to larger motors, increased capacity and maybe 3 or 4s battery to deliver design performance goals. Maybe the new DJI FPV at a significantly lower cost?.

I'd want it to stay the same size... that's about my only design limitation.

The Neo is my favorite in my fleet to fly. A lot of that is due to how quickly you can deploy it. Even used it to check out gutters for cleaning this fall.
