Has anyone got the RC2 to pair with neo?

@AnchorageAk i dont understand why you are unable to pair your Neo to the RC2, i have two RC2 controllers one for my Mini 4 pro ,and another for my Air 3 ,and i have been able to fly the Neo with both of them, you do need to have a solid internet connection ,then its just a case of downloading the latest firmware for the Neo ,then once that is done, turn on the Neo and then select it from the list ,and the RC will load the Neo firmware and allow it to connect to the RC 2,its just the same as if you fly a different drone with one controller ,when you select the one you wish to fly then the firmware that is stored in the RC will select the appropriate firmware for that model of drone
hope ,this helps and you are able to get the RC 2 and Neo to pair up

I don't have ether one but here is a short video on how to do it.

Good luck. 👍

It's a simple procedure to pair it. But, when you spend hours watching videos and talking to DJI you start having doubts. To me, the next step is to see if others are having a problem. Then you proceed from there.

Drones can be a pain with these things at times you'll get it.

I live in Alaska also, and I have paired with the rc2 and the fPV controller, and the motion controller with goggles.

I did have to do multiple DJI fly updates and firmware upgrades updates to get everything talking the same lingo, but after that, it all started working as it was supposed to..

If you need help, I am available, PM me.

Had no issues pairing my RC2 with the Neo. Worked on the first try following the on-screen instructions.

I was out again yesterday flying the Neo with the RC2 controller. And it doesn't really make fun to me. Compared to flying the Neo with Goggles 3 and FPV-RC3 it feels sluggish and unprecise, caused by high latency. I will avoid using the RC2 in future, as well as the N2 with phone which has similar problems.

Yeah, the Neo doesn’t handle as well as other DJI drones. Got my hands on an Air 3S and it’s like butter.

I control my NEO with the RC-N3 and I have found it responsive and precise. It gets blown around more than my larger drones but the controls are still very responsive.

Flying the NEO FPV, you have more/different options for control (like full manual mode) unlike with the traditional controllers so there is going to be a difference in responsiveness.

I ran into similar problems a while back trying to pair my Mini 3 Pro (purchased as drone only) with my RC Pro. Although DJI Assistant 2 ran on my computer at the time, due to the computer only having USB 2 ports, it wouldn't work. If you are using Assistant 2 to update the firmware, you will need to make sure that your computer is a relatively new computer with USB 3 or USB-C ports.

My issue was firmware related which is most likely why you cannot get the RC2 and NEO to pair. At the time I solved the problem by using the RC-N1 controller with my phone to update the firmware on the Mini 3 Pro. Once I did that both the RC Pro and the Mini 3 were able to talk to each other.

Have you tried updating the firmware on your RC2 (connected to your WiFi network) without trying to pair to the NEO first and then after the update try to do the pairing?

I realize that my situation was different but that is how I got my controller and M3P to talk to each other. DJI unfortunately was no help, they wanted me to send the drone in to them.

Hope this helps.

No problems here. But I went ahead and ordered the N3 to have a separate controller for my apprentice pilot (great-granddaughter)

I like the N3 controller that came with my FMC. It's small and light and best thing of all it kept the price of the FMC down. The only thing I need to remember is to connect the cord to my phone, since I am so used to using the other controllers with a built in screen for my other drones.
