Greetings Matrix escapees. Just started flying a few days ago, weather [mostly not] permitting.

Anyone know any inside venues where I can put in stick time while waiting for Spring? I will range from Mason-Dixen to VA-NC border, Atlantic to western WV.

Welcome from the Midwest. To answer your question, no, but I did use to fly a RC Corona back in the day. Very impressive what a good RC heli pilot can do with the right helicopter for sure. Welcome again to a new hobby full of fun.

Be aware of Neo downward facing IR and Visual sensors issues. DJI spec note minimum of 15LUX illumination over a textured surface. Two indoors out of control fly away events experienced. Both time flying either N or S mode. Once with the MC3 and the other with the FPV RC3 controller. Flew into too dimly lighted areas. Neo just accelerated into an obstacle with no input control response. Multiple Ytube videos of people covering the sensors with a chunk of black tape to replicate the issue even with adequate satellites acquired and high outdoors or indoors lighting.

No issues flying manual mode using the FPV RC3 even with zero satellites acquired. Something is messing up the positioning stability system of the Neo when the sensors are not working as designed. Just a Neo limitation. Personally if flying in a space similar to a basketball court. I would limit indoors Neo flying to Manual Mode. No need to be concerned with satellites locked and visual sensor issues.

Double digit hours flying the Neo outdoors. Majority in manual mode using the FPV RC3. Zero fly away issues. Wish I could say the same regarding user caused crashes.

.

I would suggest a lanyard system to help with the flight(s).

I've flown my NEO & MA2 with this impromptu rig and it helps when fumbling with the stuff before, during, and after the flight. :)

There are attachments to purchase on line that work better, but the rubber O ring worked fine for me in a pinch.

I'm using the O ring method for the NEO.

So far, so good.
