I had my neo running in the hallway (noisy little thing) to flatten the battery ready for a video to test charging time in the hub
Without realising it ( i was using the controller and app) the **** thing somehow managed to lock a Home Point whilst inside the house.
Yep you guessed it, once the battery reached that point it initiated a RTH, i didnt have my hands on the controller and by the time i realized what was happening it was to late to stop it.
Up went the Neo straight into the ceiling and then proceeded to crash down onto the floor.
At first having seen many people crash these quads I thought nothing of it, until i went to turn it on and noticed it said " preparing for take off" and the camera wouldnt move.
Strangely, nothing showed in the app for errors apart from IMU needing calibration, which when i tried it, it just refused to start calibration, it was only when i hooked it to the wifi app that a whole list of errors showed up.
Realising that the little thing was dead I initiated Care Refresh.
Wednesday 14:40 go through the procedure of logging a CA case, I opted for the Premium service where DJI charge my card £16 for the fact its my fault and £85 holding fee in case they dont receive the old Neo back , label sent in 5 minutes, unit boxed up and taken to the UPS store where they printed the label.
Friday DHL deliver the new drone (albeit not between 12:10 and 14:10 as stated but more 16:20).
Monday got a phone call from DJI checking i had received the new Drone and to advise my shipment back was delayed but en route
Wednesday DJI refunded the £85
Im a little bit wiser about not flying the quad in tight spaces and thankful i took out the care refresh for just £19 for the year, this will be extended i guess.
