Battery Use Tracking

I labeled all my Neo batteries. To balance their use I installed an app called Stock and Inventory Simple. With that app I created inventory items for each battery. As I charge each one I add one to inventory count:



I know the Fly app gives you a battery cycle count but, the battery has to be in the Neo to get that. With my method I know what order to select batteries.

Simple and lazy person system.

I just used a "sharpie" marking pen to label the now 6 batteries used. Roman numerals on what would be the bottom side when in the charging hub. Did stick one of those DJI stickers onto the original charging hub to distinguish it from the 2nd newer hub and batteries.

Manual mode with landing at ~30% capacity has been delivering +5 to +7 minutes of flight times. 6 batteries is turning out to be enough for a good session. Plan is once the original 3 start losing significant capacity to just purchase 3 more to replace them to keep the inventory at 6. Unless DJI comes out with a sub 250gm version of the DJI FPV with a Neo size footprint.

One concern with the Neo design is the power button. Wish DJI would have copied the Avata2 system. Power on/off built into the battery v. the quad. Wondering how many on/off cycles the Neo power switch is rated for. Had to replace the momentary switch on my Spektrum roller switch. Lots of clicking that roller switch. Easy access, simple soldering, and off the shelf inexpensive part. Neo? Guessing more work if a replacement switch can be sourced. Probably no something to be concerned with. Will probably crash trash Neo before the switch wears out.

I've been keeping of manual record of date charged and discharge and recharge cycle to 60% until the next full charge. I usually fly to about 20% after landing. All my batteries are labeled with a label maker I bought years ago, very handy tool.

Found an old notebook where I use to track capacity, IR, last date charged to storage.... of all the multi-cell batteries used on the fixed wing and multi rotor UASs. Today. Treat the DJI like my old 1s batteries. Charge to full, fly, charge to approximated storage level(as RcHawks noted). Will replace when flight times become significantly effected. Old days minimal telemetry data. Safe flying required monitoring battery health. Today. DJI more or less monitors for you.

Reducing available power in M mode when the battery level drops too low to prevent major bad voltage sag.
RTH low battery warning. All nice features.
