Here in Brazil, when someone is angry but without a reason that is widely accepted by the people, we say “revolta do pipoqueiro” (“popcorn seller revolt” the person who throws his popcorn from the pan onto the floor).

And that's how I feel, I have a Mavic Mini, Mini 2, Air 2S but I got excited and bought the NEO and now I realize that DJI does the same thing that IOS and Android do, every year there is a new release and after a while they don't even update the smartphones anymore and we are forced to keep the oldest one in a drawer. So my revolt is: "I'm not going to buy the Flip" and I will go back to using my AIR 2S and I will have the NEO with me for emergencies. Take care, have good flights and God bless my friends.

I understand your frustration but it’s called marketing and it’s about selling. Where you might pass on this one, there will be thousands that will jump at it.

Also consider a manufacturer must keep manufacturing to bring in the revenue necessary to keep employing all those people. The only way ever discovered to pull this off for non-consumables is to keep coming out with new products.

The nice thing about all these new drone releases is that you have choices. The Flip fits in-between the NEO and the Mini 4 Pro with a price point in the middle.

There are upgrades on the Flip that I wish the NEO had but I am not willing to pay more than double what I paid for my NEO FMC to get a Flip FMC.

The Flip doesn't change the fact that the NEO is a great, tiny versatile drone that allows one to get some great shots in difficult locations and has a wide range of control options.

Confession. As an only immersive flier. A Neo fanboy. First DJI UAS that IMO has better than a good value. Sub $200 for a sub-250gm, 04 digital video system, robust design relative to most quads, ok prices for replacement propellers(whole other long whinny issue with DJI), decent and agile little flier. With more stick time. Figuring out how to handle flying in winds way beyond any other similar mass quad. Just wish the OSD warning boxes of "high wind warning" and "manual mode, fly ...." would disappear. Personally find them obstructing lower right peripheral vision view.

Another brain dead thought. Wonder how many warning boxes I can stack up in that section of the goggle image. Close to restricted flying area. Might be a "no satellites" even in Manual mode. Any others??? Might be able to obstruct more the whole right side.

What I am more frustrated about with DJI is that I can’t buy the DJI FLIP without controller. I already own all the O4 controllers including the goggles

I am also passing on the Flip. Nothing new here since I have a Neo Mini 3 and 4 Pro and both Avatas. I was hoping it would have FPV access but for now it’s just a low grade camera drone with limited obstacle avoidance.

Why should I buy one?

Might just have to be patient and wait for bnf FLIPs to be available. IIRC, when the Neo was released we in the USA were able to purchase a Fly More Combo kit without the controller. Unlike those in the EU. Not so with the f...flipping FLIP. DJI marketing? Personally I would not have pre-ordered the Neo if needing to purchase the controller packaged with it in the EU combo kits. Just wait for a no controller combo kit or if impatient purchase the bnf Neo and then needing to add charging hub, extra batteries.... Not something I would have done. Patients beats wasting $$$s.
