When using the fly app in manual mode, the virtual joy sticks are too small and hard to control. They are noticeably larger when going full-screen in landscape position (holding the phone horizontally), but when pressed they "scoot," or change to a different position. This makes it nearly impossible to accurately control them. Also, the up and down movements are much slower in this position. I have the latest version of the app on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. Any ideas?

I think that's just the trade off of using a cell phone for control, without a transmitter. Your range is limited as well. You should be able to go to the settings to adjust the control movements . But using a RC 2 controller or RC-N3 controller will make all the difference and solves the limited range you will have using virtual sticks only on your cell phone. Using the RC-N3 will allow you full control and range.

Thanks for responding, RcHawks! Yes, I'm convinced that if you want to do any serious manual flying, a controller is the only way to go. I'll be ordering one soon.
