thinkingaboutone is thinking of buying one

Don't get into SCUBA diving. The equipment costs are bad enough, but then there are those absolutely mandatory visits to exotic tropical locations... 😉
My primary interest in drones is photography. I use them to compliment my land cameras. The NEO could be a low cost entry point for FPV for occasional use but not at the current prices of the equipment needed.

I enjoy flying my Tello FPV but am not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on additional equipment just to fly a NEO FPV occasionally.

Yes you need a controller BUT thats a good thing really Look into a RADIOMASTER 4 in 1 OR a controller with ELRS then you can use it for other Drones if you choose. They range in price from around 70-??!!. AS for price- It is expensive to FPV , even more so if you fly Digital. IF you can put up with some flicker and static and you don't mind watching from a 70's style type of view then you can get a complete Analog setup from 300 up.
It took me some time to go to Digital FPV. The price is WAY more than analog. Its hard to go back now BUT I still fly my analog whoops They are cheap to fly.
I just got a DJI FPV from the Ebays Its a great drone Not quite a Freestyle but man its a blast!!! That Drone cost about $10.00 Dollars an hour to fly if you do the math (Batteries have 100 cycles and cost about 100 bucks for 8-10 min.)

Thank you for your input. It is helpful.

Until NEO came out I had never flown FPV. The NEO got me interested when I saw a few videos of people flying it FPV including @Anzacjack when he was zipping around his hangar and @Hummingbird.uav when flying around his yard. I then got out my Tello which I hadn’t used in almost a year and tried it - it was fun! But then reality hit - it’s expensive to fly FPV occasionally if you don’t already have the necessary equipment!

Yah, I got dizzy a bit when I was standing up and walking around. Once I sat down I was fine.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was chiefly interested in using the NEO for indoor work in residential real estate. That quickly changed on my first attempt inside my own home. It doesn't do well without a solid GPS signal. However, for the low investment, I have no regrets as my great-granddaughter loves it, and I enjoy aggravating my dog with it.
I’m pretty sure that’s what I advised you of. But as you say, a great little drone to get the kids some hands on

Yes, you did indeed. Although disappointed about that, I am still happy with the purchase.

New Drone pilot in the Making Gotta love it!!
When I get mine I am sure after I have my fun with it. It will be the one I bring out for the younger crowd at our FPV meets. We all try to bring Other easier to fly or drive stuff with us for the kids.

I've already bought a second, arrived yesterday, to send to my granddaughter 👍🏻

I'm also changing my name to Meringue and getting a new wardrobe at Forever 21. 😁

How was the light level? My Neo has auto-landed or behaved badly when I flew it from a well lit area to a darker part of the house and gave an audio message that the visual sensors weren't operating well. I think the VPS may be more important for indoor spaces than GPS.

That's not good. Hopefully this will be sorted out in firmware updates.
