Sattelite loss

What I'm unclear on is your use of "manual" for the behavior when you defeat GPS and VPS on the Neo. Are you saying when you do this it flies in Rate Mode?

I'm skeptical. It would be the first DJI drone to do this, ever.
I'm not sure what are these modes at DJI, different from fpv. If you block all these sensors (the bottom ones) and without GPS, the drone drifts and desends without imput. Doesn't hover and doesn't break. No flight modes (video, normal and sport modes are disabled) atti mode overrides all. The smallest joystick imput is immediate and full throttle. Speeds up very quickly. Like when you put the 3 way switch to the most brutal position.

When you block all sensors you simply get ATTI, i.e. angle mode with auto height control.

Also make sure to only cover the IR receiver, avoid the transmitter.

Doesn't make any difference. The right one is the transmitter, the left the receiver. Tried both sides and together both. I used black duct tape. Doesn't make any harm and no sensor error message.

When you cover both depending on the tape it may conduct the light between the 2 instead of blocking the signal, and when that happens it makes it think it's always on the ground and fly VERY erratically.
Also good to keep in mind that some black tapes are transparent to IR.

If you don't know the difference between Rate Mode and Angle mode, you've never flown "manual" as the FPV community defines it.

These simply are not terms you can be unfamiliar with and have experience with FPV (outside the DJI models).

Today I received an email from DJI technical support in Brazil, informing me that my NEO was in for repair and the service was covered by the warranty, at no cost to me. I'm waiting for it to be sent back to test as soon as I receive it, when I will then comment again.

Glad they are sending you another one. Usually DJI doesn't repair your unit and send it back to you, they just replace it with and new or refurbished one.

In the fpv they are horizon / angle / acro mode. Please stop schooling me. I've been flying drones for 5 years and have a1/a3 pilot certificate for 2 years. Fpv pilots don't use DJI drones. Only the hobby pilots.

But it also occurred to me that these stickers (reflective silver tapes) to scare away birds, may be affecting the antenna reception, I sent an email with these photos to DJI asking their technicians, as soon as I get a response I will comment. I will also remove these tapes and return to the same place and do another test.
Please don’t refit this tape. I would wager it is having an impact on the already small antenna

Today in a square in my city, Curitiba (Brazil), was flying at low altitude and I had several messages about satellite loss, I have the Android app version 1.15.0 and firmware 1.3.0100, here are the prints.
How did you get that 1st screenshot with all the data?

Friends, this afternoon I was in the same place where I had problems with signal loss with the NEO, but now I was with the AIR 2S and I could see that it also suffered some signal loss. I concluded that the NEO suffered even more because it is more sensitive. Result: I will not fly in this place again.1000021812.jpg

Very noticeable issue.
