I have the goggles and the remote, but it's 15° F, snowing, windy, dark, etc.

I couldn't make it through the DJI TUTORIALS because the remote is designed for the hand only.

No gloves.

I might try flying from inside my vehicle in a field with my trusty V.O. at my side.

It might be Spring time in Central Indiana before I can evaluate the stuff.

Yeah my fingers are split open and raw. Wind chill is murder. Too loud for me to fly inside. At least I've got it activated and ready to go. I thought I'd lead with the neo and then get the Avata 2 going next.
Speaking of which does anyone know of or has seen a link on where to purchase a spare face mask insert replacement for the N3?
I'd like to buy a spare one before it's deemed a security risk.

Seriously, give some latex gloves a try. Not insulated, but WILL keep your hands warmer, maybe enough.

There are insulated "hand boxes" specifically designed for using a Tx in cold weather. The FPV RC3 is small compared against most non-dji controllers. Guessing any of the boxes would work. Might be a bit wonky for MC3 users. But beats the frozen finger thaw pain. A nice pair of gloves that allow for some dexterity might be a better option.

Nordic X/C racing gloves, the models designed for cold racing conditions should work. Nordic racing you develop significant metabolic core temp requiring minimal all over body insulation. The cold temp gloves are not that warm if standing around. Little simple keep your fingers warm hint. Armpits make for great "natural" hand warmers. Necessity of cold mass start events. The fingerless gloves with the mitten flap over cover are another option.

For Spring flying on the ice I just use a pair of wool glove liners. Smartwool, Icebreaker.... Recently switch over to alpaca wool liners that are available from a number of etsy sellers. Less $s, warmer for similar weight, more hydrophobic. A few hobby astronomers use the hand warming tubes that you either sling around your neck or waist. Most have pockets for those chemical one time use heat packs. With my ever increasing intolerant to cold fingers. Considering adding one of those tubes to the kit. Adds an option outside of pockets to keep the batteries as warm as possible. Many options for reducing cold finger discomfort.

Cold weather and fingers are a big deal. My neighbor who's a delivery driver almost lost two of his fingers several years ago to frostbite. They turned white like a sheet of paper, I've never seen that before. Thanks for the tips on the gloves!
