Using identical hardware. Goggles 3 and FPV RC3. Launch pad same spot. Different days.

From the garage to the mailbox in a
straight line is ~230 meters distance and -15 meter loss in altitude with solid forest of trees between. Flying when the trees had full dense foliage the Neo could not make it down to the mailbox before video signal dropped to yellow and eventually red range. Avata2 would drop into the yellow range just before reaching the mailbox. Trees are now bare. Minimal number of conifers. Neo can now make it down to the mailbox, but video signal quality dropped into the yellow range and flickered into red. Avata2 still going yellow, but I have long forgotten the exact number of bars and mb.

Neo is video signal strength is significantly
weaker than the Avata2 but still impressive. Video strength is way beyond the distances I would normally fly the Neo. I like to be able to see where I land in a crash event.

I'd chalk it up to antennas... Avata probably has more, and the overall RF design is most likely better.

Result: More gain, resulting in more effective power transmitted.
