I'm hoping next year (when I'm ready to buy) the price drops quite a bit (i.e. this kit would sell for $220ish) or what I'm really hoping for is a (discounted kit) FMC with remote, goggles, and/or....beacon?

So for $60 some bucks, which isn't a certainty, you could have it now and have more than two months usage under your belt before next year. I'm with GFields - go for it.

I think I'm waiting on a package which contains goggles and a remote controller.

Yeah, that's where I'm am at the moment too. I'm just not sure how comfortable the headset would be for my nose.
So I'm still trying to sort it out justifying the cost or price point investment on this drone, since my controllers aren't compatible.
