Has anyone damaged their antennas yet?
All I have heard is the protectors you can get online break before anything else.
I haven't even heard of anyone having a issue with them yet.

I just got my Neo 2 the other day and enjoying it very much.
I'm up to 3 drones now. Neo, Neo2 and SkyRover x1.
I really don't have a favorite yet. I love all 3!

Haven't had any issues at all with the antennas, nor have I heard of anyone else having issues.

In my opinion concern about these antennas is paranoid. They're flexible, and would require extreme abuse to damage. I see no useful purpose for these various enclosure protectors, and am not surprised that their rigid composition is what's cracking and breaking, not the antennas.

I put this one on mine after reading of several breakages...and seeing the cost of the replacement module! I've flown mine a fair amount in acro so I think it's a small price to pay for potentially saving $50. One surprise benefit: I was flying at an event yesterday and I was using an RID module and flying over people (Part 107 waiver) and people actually commented positively on the "orange thing on the back".

Methinks one has to be pretty abusive with the drone to break those antennas. However, if anticipating that sort of extreme stress to them, a protector makes sense.

Me? If its going to be in a situation that hard on the antennas I just take the module off. Personally I dont find unscrewing and reattaching it to be much of a pain.

@WilliamDaugherty, wouldn't it be nice if someone made an antenna guard with RID integrated... THAT'S something id think about buying.

Better yet, DJI, how about creating an "advanced" antenna module with RID integrated? Would be nice. Bet they could sell it for $100, even more. Professionals would buy it (grumbling all along the way 😁).

Probably too small a market.

Everything I'm reading says the module is required for use with a controller or goggles. Is that untrue?

Yes, the module provides for the O4 transmission signals for the Googles or Controller. The module is NOT needed for use with a phone, or in autonomous mode

Even better if someone would make an all in one RID, 3mile strobe and antenna module that weighs less than 30 grams.
