We had an ice storm that started on Saturday and ended earlier today. Where I live the power went out midday on Saturday and just came back on midday today (Monday). Cell service and internet also went out. Internet is still out. Pretty much every single road around where I live has multiple trees with branches snapped like toothpicks. Power lines were down on multiple roads.

Here are some non-drone shots from around my neighborhood. I did take some NEO video which I will edit and post in the next few days.

Heard on the CBC news this AM about the large and extensive power outages N of the border. Trees were pretty in the morning light. Our ice was minimal. Just made driving and walking almost not possible. Luckily the rain, sleet mix down here turned rapidly into snow. Nice +25cm total. Good thing. The gale force winds off of L. Superior would have caused major issues similar to your experience if we had heavy ice accumulation. Sunny and calm 2C this AM while clearing the snowplow snowbank at the end of driveway. By noon it reached 10C. Snow is melting from bottom up and from top down. Didn't even bother snowplowing the driveway.

No snow here just freezing rain. It was -1C all day yesterday and calm but today started off warm which melted the ice on the trees but it has gotten cold again and possibly more freezing rain.

Here's a quick video of the destruction caused by the ice storm. I walked around the block in my neighbourhood and as I was walking ice and branches were breaking off trees and falling to the ground, that is why I did not walk underneath any overhanging tree branches as they were still coming down.

What a great video you have created on a very sad event. The Soundtrack you have chosen puts this video over the top. Felt like I was right there walking down the street and
seeing firsthand all the devastation created by the ice storm.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, even now days later I cannot believe the amount of devastation. Hundreds maybe thousands of mature trees were so badly damaged they will likely not recover and will need to be cut down. One of my neighbours commented in his shock at the devastation, that it takes years for trees to grow to the size of most of the trees that were affected.
