NEO is not an RC toy, nor does it resemble other drones, so it is advisable to study its behavior. Suggestions:
1)- record your screen when taking off, so you can analyze it later
2)- sign up for Airdata (free is fine, paid is much better) and analyze it when you get home
3)- while flying, pay attention to the information on the screen, warning messages, look carefully at the compass (notice that in a specific direction the number of satellites decreases)
4)- do not try to do a long range test because it was not made for this
5)- before taking off, consult a weather forecast app to check the wind at your flight location, do not try to force the flight above 8 m/s
6)- use the NEO as a hobby, but not to show off on social media that you are a record holder
7)- Do not blame DJI for mistakes that you could have avoided, if you had paid more attention before taking off or during the flight
8)- always remember that NEO does not have absolute precision in registering satellites and therefore will vary during your flight
9)- These care doesn't serve you? Then give it up and buy something much more powerful and consequently much more expensive and more difficult to transport and operate.
10) - Excuse the comparison, but don't buy a "Volkswagen 1950" expecting it to have the technology and performance of an Audi 2025, it's that simple.

I wish you all an excellent 2025 with great flights and lots of joy in using your NEO.

Agree with most of the above.

I'm just an immersive flier. Cannot comment on video quality or features. Fly, crash, repeat until trashing or salvaging for spare parts. The Neo can fly in winds greater than 8m/sec. But not into or across very effectively in S mode. Guessing N mode would not be possible. Your SOG might be negative m/sec. Manual works, but the light mass and low peak power makes it very challenging. It will probably burn out the motors sooner. Also, be aware in manual mode that the "intelligent" battery system puts a limit on watts delivered after reaching a certain capacity. Stay very close to you launch pad when hitting 50% capacity.

Neo is an inexpensive drone with limits. People seem to expect too much and a "perfect" platform. Maybe because have been flying for a bit of time. Appreciate the advances in R/C tech. The much simpler user interface and almost "thoughtless" effort to get airborne. Neo is basically a do everything sub 250 quad that doesn't do anything the "best".

For the first time I find myself disagreeing with @Adembar, a fellow pilot I have come to like and respect very much here 😉

To me, the neo is pretty much like all the other drones I have, just cheaper, and performs as such. Yes, it has full-functional GPS, but it is lower quality, takes longer to get a fix, etc.

Yes, it has fully-functional VPS, but it uses a cheap pinhole camera which doesn't handle low light well.

Yes, it shoots 4k video, but the sensor is ½ inch and probably several generations old (making it cheap), and a basic image pipeline SoC (cheap), so shadows are noisy, color is a little variable, and some other criticisms.

I could go on, but to me the differences are a matter of degree, not profound. With the MC or RC it flies just like my Avatas in the general sense, just not as good.

I don't really fly it any differently than the Avata 2, just not as aggressively... quite a bit less so.

Thank you for your comment and I am happy to know that you disagree and for this reason I respect your opinion and am even more grateful for your personal comment about me, take care, have good flights and be happy this year.

I appreciate the advice given about these issues and will be aware of those things that you have mentioned. Due to family life issues I haven't had a chance to check things out.

Excellent comments and observations about the Neo. As I read many of the comments and complaints in the Facebook groups, I'm aware that many of them have expectations that well exceed the capabilities of this fun little drone. For instance, folks are wanting the Neo to perform in Auto mode as it would with a remote. Ain't gonna happen.

DJI promoted the Neo with some high expectations, that the Neo might well be able to do in the hands of an experienced pilot, not in the hands of a newbie.
