I have never used voice commands. I personally have no use for them. The same for the quick shot modes built into the drone (buttons on top), I have never used those either.
To be honest, I have not and probably will not use voice commands. My phone, which cost 10x more cannot understand me 30% of the time can't do it. So why would I risk it. My phone is hardly likely to fly out of my hand and smack into a tree. The little drone couldn't possibly do better and the tree scenario is far more likely.
I have tried everything but the voice thing.
I occasionally use the follow mode to walk along with the dog and myself.
My neighbors already know I'm nuts.
Thank you for the responses on this thread and thank you to Neo 317 for the video. I wondered what you meant when you said your arms was getting tired. Now I get it. The reason I asked the question is because I’m using the neo for daily walks on trails using follow mode. When possible I’ll land and turn off the neo when others walking their dogs, ect so as not to disturb anyone because of the noise or distraction, especially with dogs present. For the most part I’ve been very successful at landing before anyone notices me and the neo. I was hoping for a better method as I’ve gotten a couple of stink eye looks as to what I was doing. When using the follow mode I prefer to have it set high and far which means sticking my hand way above my head to land which from a distance must seem strange to observers. I like this setting for the background scenery that surrounds me when I’m walking, but I’m thinking the lower setting in follow mode will be a better option for landing without drawing additional attention to myself. I was hoping it would be more of a “Hey Siri” kind of thing, I can see now that’s not the case.
I have used the voice commands, as well as the preprogrammed modes on the drone. But primarily for demonstration purposes to non-drone owners. I use it the same way DJI used it, as a magic trick to draw people in. The first time someone sees follow mode, hands free, and they find out it's a ~$200 drone, they are sold. It's how they got me. I've been saying it from the beginning. The Neo is a gateway drug. It's cheap enough to get people in the door, and not be worried about breaking it.
