Its an mtb video really, but gets straight to the point, hand launch in 'follow far' on sand covered dunes, drone slowly rose to several hundred feet
then hovered in place till battery drain, haven't got the app on phone.
original firmware, straight out of warm van, 10kmh wind.

Drone descended unpowered, but survived, I'm actually under height restriction near an RAF base UK, not panicking as it was closed due to weather.

Hello from the Crossroads of America Charge.

Thanks for sharing your tour of the beach. :)

You might want to download the app and purchase a remote control for best results in the future.

Maybe read the manual a few times too.

Glad to see that the NEO landed close to you considering the environment and the limitations of the NEO.

Welcome to the NEO Forum.

Thankyou, of course I've since discovered large areas of snow are not recommended, seems like a strange reaction, it started rising very slowly at first. you can see me just looking at it.
I decided to ride and hope it followed and sorted itself, the UK has dropped all its geofencing and this used to be a no fly for gps drones.
Now its just follow the rules, which I presume I just broke.

If I had a paired but not connected controller, could I connect while it was up there?

Maybe you didn't allow enough time for it to determine where you were before taking off, add to that the white out conditions surrounding you and it got confused, I don't know. Not a bad idea to have something connected to sort out allowed flight distance, height, ect before hand before using follow mode. Just my opinion. Glad you didn't lose it. My guess would be no you would need to do that before hand I think. I'm sure a more well informed flyer here will advise.

Thanks, yes I got used to grab and fly, but I'm realising it just doesn't like low ground texture
