I had two incidents with my Neo 1.
First one happened when I was flying in manual mode and touched a fence with not too much speed. The Neo then stopped reacting to any stick inputs. I increased altitude and tilted to the right, so I feared now having a flyaway. Feeled 20 seconds passed and then stick reaction came slowly back. I was then able to manually fly to my position and land. After battery exchange and restarting it flew normally again and the problem didn't occur a second time since.
Second one happened when I was flying through a forrest in normal mode.Suddenly GPS was grayed out and the Neo was in Atti mode. After some seconds GPS came back.
In general, the Neo 1 GPS receiver and its antenna are of very poor quality. It is a low cost solution developed by DJI themselves, not based on a common GPS chipset. You can see this already after powering the drone, which takes much longer for satellite acquisition compare to other DJI drones.
Both incidents happened with the latest firmware to my knowledge. In any case, if something unexpected will happen, DON'T USE RTH and fly back manually as soon as the stick inputs are recognised again.
I didn't see similar problems with my Neo 2, which has a significantly better GPS receiver.
