Hello,

Total newbie here but hoping you can help me make sense of a couple of things related to the DJI Neo camera quality.
I noticed that shooting in both 4K @ 30fps and 1080p @ 60fps videos taken with plenty of light still looks a little grainy.
I have the ISO set at 100, high shutter speed as there’s plenty of light and exposure locked at -0.7.
Now I know the Neo doesn’t have a professional sensor but importing the videos on my Mac I noticed that the bitrate is only 15 to 18Mbit/s? Is that normal? Or is there something I’m doing wrong? I see that the Neo has a max of 75Mbit/s bitrate. I assume the drone adjusts the bitrate automatically? I’ve watched a million videos and read lots of resources online but I still can’t find the answer. Thank you!

I get about 50Mbps in 4K30 and 35 in 1080p60. What Windows will say for the whole file isn't always reliable.

Underexposing is gonna make things more grainy.
Resolution is low anyway, 4K is basically no better than upscaled 1080.

Why are you under exposing? The small sensor will not yield Hi Def professional results but with proper exposure leisure videos should be fine.

I am no video expert and usually shoot mostly photos but on the NEO I do shoot more video. For me, I shoot my video @4K30fps and mostly use Auto settings. I have tried manual settings with mixed and often disappointing results. Usually I get the best results using Auto settings.

On my other drones which have wider dynamic range, I predominantly use manual settings for both photo and videos.

The best thing to do is go out and experiment. Try using Auto settings, then fly a similar environment and time using manual settings and compare your results.

Hope this helps.

Chris
