This it true. Certainly resilient little thing. One thing he has killed one with before of course is water - that's the end! But immovable objects - impressed.
For a controller to be compatible, it will need to use O4. That means any earlier ones that use O3 or earlier will never work. So it rules out my RC I received with my Mini 3 Pro, but as you say, the Mini 4 Pro will work (as that is O4)
I think you answered the reasoning in your post - time, tech, software, AI etc.. back then the idea was nice but probably would have been a much poorer user experience. When they got to the point they could go fully autonomous as they have done, I figure that needed the technology to get there...
Surely when you consider it NOT in FPV mode - this is the default for other camera drones - admittedly it's using software to straighten the horizon rather than a gimbal with another axis - but trying to give you the same result?
If you want tipped horizon - then surely FPV is the way to go -...
Yes of course - i've tilted the gimbal which shows the angle gradations. Before you do this you just see the slider - the gradations appear when you move it then disappear when you stop touching it
You can - when connected to a mobile phone the top half of the screen shows your view - there is a slider within the screen on the right hand side that controls the Gimbal up and down
