I also have a bigger version that I have for my Phantom 3 Standard. Chris

    My new accessories

This is another accessory that I have found helpful for all of my drones. Today I was out with my Neo and it was -9ºC. I set the Neo to Cruise Control and flew it along a bush trail covered in snow while I followed behind making small adjustments as needed. My hands did not get cold at all when...

    My new accessories

Today I did some testing of the LED landing light outside in heavy snowfall in cloudy overcast conditions with the ground covered in a thick layer of freshly fallen snow. I was testing to see if the LED light would prevent the original Neo from going into Atti mode and losing stability/control...

    Avata 360 leaks

Although the Neo 2 has some interesting upgrades over the original Neo, I think I will be passing on it and waiting to see what the Avata 360 offers mainly for regular flying and photography. Chris

Neo 2: Notes, observations, surprises as I test and learn

Thanks for your reply. It is very likely that the Neo 2 would perform much better in the same environment I fly in where the original Neo had difficulty. There are a number of upgrades on the Neo 2 that I am interested in but weighing those upgrades against the downsides (for me) which include a...

Neo 2: Notes, observations, surprises as I test and learn

I do like a lot of the features that the Neo 2 has especially the improved Direction track which is something that I use frequently. The addition of obstacle avoidance really does not make much of a difference for me as the original Neo does an excellent job of following the path I take. It...

    Avata 360 leaks

Yeah, still toying with the FPV thing. I'm not sure I would have many opportunities to do FPV. Here in Canada the rules are pretty clear that you must have a visual observer when doing FPV and the Avata 360 looks to be over 250g. With the Neo I'm not sure if an observer is needed since the drone...

    Avata 360 leaks

This looks like something I might be interested in if it can be flown and be used like a regular drone. I take lots of photo spheres and if this simplifies the process then that is something I will definitely consider. Chris

Neo 2: Notes, observations, surprises as I test and learn

Although, I have an RC 2 controller, I actually prefer using the N3 controller with the Neo. The Neo/Neo 2 is a basic small drone and the N3 controller is perfectly suited to it. For my use case (hiking, biking, skiing, etc), I find the RC 2 too big and bulky. Chris

Neo 2: Notes, observations, surprises as I test and learn

There are lots of these antenna protectors on Aliexpress. Not sure if they are just a gimmick or not but they might work when you don’t want to carry a case around. I don’t know why DJI didn’t make the antennas able to fold down. As for a lanyard clip for the N3 controller, this is the one I...

Neo 2: Notes, observations, surprises as I test and learn

The Neo reminds me of the Spark batteries but a much better design. I used to have to have a battery clip for my Spark to prevent the batteries from accidentally coming loose. Chris

That seems reasonable for this light because as altitude increases the light disperses making it less effective to provide enough light for the VPS. I have also noticed that as the light discharges with use it becomes less bright. I have had my NEO go into atti mode a couple of times because it...

    My new accessories

Is that per battery cost? They are USD $39 on DJIs website here in Canada. Is that the price you have to pay after tariffs are added? To me, it is shocking how much the cost of drones and drone accessories now cost in the US. In the past it has always been the opposite - prices in Canada have...
